DIY 7" FPV Ground Station with integrated Receiver and Battery under $65 Part-1

07:43
I have always been a big DIY person. I love to make things, instead just buying it outright. Sometimes I end up spending way more money than what the ready to use package costs. But the real fun is actually figuring it out how you can make something out of easy available parts, that suits your needs and it costs lot less. The best part of DIY is the things you learn along the way. In this video I show how I integrated "8Ch 5.8 Ghz Receiver" and "2S Lipo battery" inside the "7" LCD monitor" to make one compact FPV Ground Station. The ready system costs around $100 or more, and if it as diversity built in you are looking at $150. But if you buy the Monitor, Video Receiver, Battery and some other little things like connectors and switches, you can make yourself entire system for under $60-$65. Following is the list of parts I used: 1. 7" TFT LCD Monitor (usually marketed as Car backup camera monitor $25-$30) LINK: http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-TFT-LCD-Digital-Color-Car-Rear-view-Monitor-For-DVD-VCR-Camera-Control-hg-/271701827476?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f42b0df94 2. 5.8 Ghz 8 Channel Boscam RC5808 Video Receiver ($15-$20) LINK: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Boscam-5-8Ghz-200mW-Wireless-8CH-AV-RX-FPV-Audio-Video-Receiver-Plane-RC305-/131207507047?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e8c93ac67 3. 1000mAh 2S Lipo Battery ($8-$10) LINK: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18557__Turnigy_1000mAh_1S_20C_Lipoly_Single_Cell_.html 4. Two SPDT mini Switches (Less than $1) 5. JST-XH Connectors (less than $3) 1 x 2S Male, 1 x 2S Female, 1 x 3S Female, 1 x JST Male A good soldering station is very helpful. Some heat shrinks to keep everything safe and insulated. And none of the RC related project is done without using Glue Gun :P. Sunday in the Skies!

03:47
Fun fly on Sunday Nov 6th 2016. Perfect day for flying with almost no wind, and about 70 degree temperature. This is my very first attempt editing video using Adobe Premier Pro. Please excuse auto color corrections and some sound issues. Thanks for watching and happy flying! Surfing the Trees! Rusty Skills - FPV FreeStyle

03:16
It was a great Saturday afternoon. I was able to get out of work and burn a few packs outside the Willow pond Golf Course in Rantoul, IL. I was flying with my racing quad so PIDs are pretty tight and there is some serious jello in the footage. Also, neither I have the greatest freestyling skills nor the experience in Video Editing. But while at work on Sunday in between customers with the help of YoutTube this was the best I could do! Enjoy!
