Pole Shed - Day 1 of Construction

02:29
Day 1 - An Amish crew of 5 guys arrives at 7am along with their driver and an enclosed trailer of tools and equipment. Once they are ready to go, they mark out the holes for the posts and around 8am a contractor with a bobcat and posthole digger arrives to dig the holes. Building inspector verified that the holes were at least 48" and away the crew goes to set the posts and skirt boards. Check out Our Big House in the Little Woods entire playlist of pole shed videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6MN32Lv5HZ5HmfXIIIw1vRavguVs20Kk Suburban Buildings (garage, “man cave,” workshop, storage, toy shed, home, cabin) The Difference Between Post-Frame and Pole Barn While the two terms refer to the same type of building, “pole barn” happens to be slightly more dated. Historically, these buildings were called pole barns because builders used poles — similar to telephone poles — to support the rafters making up the roof of the building. Eventually builders began constructing with square columns which, compared to round poles, were easier to work with. Now builders use laminated columns, which are much stronger and allow post-frame structures to be utilized for many purposes. The term “pole barn” also originates from when buildings were not as technically and deliberately engineered. “Post-frame” is more correct, as it more accurately reflects the engineering and quality of the structure built. JD Z540R Mowing the lawn

02:55
Used the zero turn mower to cut the grass. John Deere offers a full line-up of commercial lawn mowers for every task you face. Explore models, specs and features and find your dealer: https://www.deere.com/en_US/products/equipment/z_trak_mowers/z_trak_mowers.page A zero-turn riding lawn mower (colloquially, a z-turn) is a standard riding lawn mower with a turning radius that is effectively zero. Different brands and models achieve this in different ways, but hydraulic speed control of each drive wheel is the most common method. Both commercial duty and homeowner models exist, with varying engine power options, size of cutting decks, fuel type (gasoline or diesel), and prices. A z-turn mower typically drives faster and costs more than a similarly sized conventional riding mower that has steerable front wheels. Most current models have four wheels: two small swiveling front tires and two large drive tires in the back. Bush Hog mowers sometimes come with a small, pivoting fifth wheel mounted in the center behind the driver. Instead of controlling the swiveling tires to steer the machine, the large drive tires rotate independently of each other based on the driver's input. They may rotate in opposite directions. The mower can pivot around a point midway between the drive wheels (the classic z-turn), or it can pivot around either one of the drive wheels if one is stationary, or it can turn in a circle of any radius. Reversal of the direction of travel can be accomplished by causing both wheels to rotate in reverse. Steering controls differ on z-turn mowers. Instead of a steering wheel, most z-turns have two throttles that control the rotational speed and direction of each drive wheel. The throttles are typically moved by a seated driver who operates levers mounted waist to shoulder high. The mower's engine throttle is controlled separately, if at all. Some zero turn mowers are steered by a joystick or a steering wheel, the advantage of either one being the location of the hands may permit less fatigue during prolonged mowing and the use of a single hand for steering.

The family and I tackled 9 loops of radiant floor tubing. The kids enjoyed running the stapler as I lined the tubing up following the diagram that was provided to me from a plumber who had access to run a program for the most efficient use of the space that we had. 2018 TREK Stache 5 (REVIEW) - of the features that I enjoy and was looking forward to

04:12
THIS IS WAY MORE BIKE THAN THE ROSCOE 8 Great bike to ride around the trails here in the Midwest for cardio but provides the capability to take out to CO and anywhere really for serious downhill singletrack. The Stache delivers! Ride is smooth, grip is sick, the high end gear ratio lacks a little but this is not a sprinting bike, gears are perfect for the trail. Could not recommend it enough! I went to a couple local Trek dealers a few weeks ago intent on purchasing a Roscoe 8. They were out of them in all sizes and informed me that Trek was back ordered until mid May (2018). One of the techs suggested a Stache 5. I was a little hesitant about paying $500 more and about the 29" tires which I had never experienced. I am SO GLAD I bit the bullet and bought a Stache 5. It's probably the most comfortable hardtail bike I've ever ridden. Trek just has geometry down to a science. Wait... it is a science... anyway, I'm in the Midwest and around here it is rooty, rocky, and we have our share of elevation changes from 50-250 ft, hard climbs, and crazy downhills. The Stache 5 delivers. I love this bike!!! Stock components will do me just fine for at least a couple of years. Just a few minor upgrades to add a splash of color to the matte gunmetal silver frame.
John Deere Z540R zero turn mower ***maybe the last fall mowing???***

04:51
Used the zero turn mower to blow leaves and cut the grass for one last time this fall.

A friend cut down a fairly straight maple tree and we hope to have a local man with a portable saw mill produce a few board feet out of the logs. The plan is to use to use the wood for small projects in the future. It also provided another use for having a 4wd compact utility tractor to aid in a project!
