Happy 150th Birthday, Scranton

01:01
From it’s earliest days the city of Scranton's grit and determination helped build this country. Generations of families before us worked the mines and stoked the furnaces that helped build America. The shining lights of the Electric City Sign carry us back to a time when the nation's first electric streetcars connected our neighborhoods. Scranton has always brought our deep culture and strong family traditions to life. Throughout it’s history, our people have always been proud to call this home. For 150 years it’s been a city were people look out for each other. A city where relationships with family, friends, and neighbors matter most. At Toyota of Scranton, we are proud to be named after our city and honored to be part of our community. Happy 150th Birthday Scranton. Panther Creek, Lackawanna County

17:20
Panther Creek was the first private Wild Plant Sanctuary designated by the PA DCNR. Located in Lackawanna and Wayne Counties in Northeastern PA, the waterfalls are in Lackawanna County. A walk down the Rails To Trails will lead you to the creek before it enters the Lackawanna River. Follow it upstream to see all the falls. The sanctuary is open to the public, but please follow the rules, it is designated to 50 feet on both sides of the creek, from the Rails To Trails up to Panther Bluff Pond. The lands that borders the creek is private on both sides. Thanks to John and Wyatt Barucky, whom I had to privilege to show the creek off to on this trip. Wyatt held his ground like a trooper and didn't care about getting wet after a few quick, cold crossings. Park by the tank and pick up the RTT trailhead off of Lord Avenue here: 41.59458, -75.48286. Pick up the creek around here: 41.60377, -75.46871.

John Calvert Interviewed In NYC - 2011 - By William V. Rauscher

52:16
In Memoriam ∙ John Calvert ∙ August 5, 1911 - September 27, 2013 On June 24-25, 2011 John Calvert was honored in NYC by Fantasma Magic. It was prior to his 100th birthday and it was an event to celebrate a century of magic. As his biographer, I had written ''John Calvert: Magic and Adventures Around the World." I was invited to interview Calvert at the Hotel Pennsylvania. A great crowd assembled along with two nights of shows and a wonderful party. The interview shown here along with film clips presents Calvert in various remembrances and is presented as a memorial to a renown master magician, actor, world traveler, pilot, yachtsman and adventurer. He lived 102 years and died in California. John Calvert, a charismatic showman, left behind a legacy that surely qualifies him as a "Legend of Legerdemain." By his side through all the years and at the time of his death was his faithful wife Tammy. - William V. Rauscher Special thanks to Roger Dreyer & Fantasma Magic for granting permission to use this footage, which was filmed in 2011 at the Magic on Manhattan convention. The overviews of John Calvert's life, career, and movies were made by Roger Dreyer & Fantasma Magic for the event as well. John Calvert interviewed by William V. Rauscher Mr. Rauscher wishes to thank Rory Feldman for his efforts and production skills in creating this memorial video. His Rory Feldman Productions label has allowed this video to appear here on YouTube. Produced by Rory Feldman Productions © 2013

http://ghostdetectives.tv http://www.facebook.com/ghostdetectives http://vortexghostgear.com Is the Inn haunted? Well, it appears so — at least according to several guests who have reported unexplained activity in some of our guest rooms. Past reports include chairs being turned upside-down while guests slept. TVs have mysteriously turned on and off, objects have moved around, strange orbs and shadows have appeared in photographs, and small children have said they've seen ghosts in their bed. Is it true? One never knows, does one?
Frackville Incline

An abandoned incline railroad in Butler Township (adjacent to Frackville), Pennsylvania. The railroad was abandoned after the ice skating pond at the foot of the hill where the owners had their home was returned to its natural state on orders of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Caution: wear full-leg and full-arm protection when walking in wooded areas of Pennsylvania. Poison ivy and deer ticks are natural hazards and can cause misery or sickness. Pennsylvania hunters cover up and check for ticks; why shouldn't you?

Heart Cook With Fire, 6-11-2010 "Red Velvet Car" tour at The Peppermill in Wendover, NV

01:23
The camera police were crawling around the place like a hungry flame in the dark. They took my friends camera at the door and tagged it, but not mine (because it was hidden). They let people with phones take pictures, but they were limiting that too. No offense intended to anyone for taking this footage. I don't know if it's the venue, the record company or what that makes these rules, I most certainly don't want to offend Heart. Heart is still SO amazing and awesome LIVE. This is another segment of Cook With Fire with Ann Wilson singing (still in stellar form) as an addendum to the other short clips of this on youtube. And Nancy's rig sounds so HOT too. This show is an incredible example of rock Goddess artistry evolving and in process still! Don't miss this tour. We took a bus in from Salt Lake City to see this.

KONE (Modded) Traction Elevators at the Hotel Julien, Dubuque, IA

03:16
Julien, these upcoming videos are for you. The elevator at this hotel was originally installed in 1908 and was manually operated. In the 1970's it was modernized by a company unknown and then in the 1980's these things started getting rough and unstable. In the early 2000's, KONE did a slap-on fixture and controller update. In reality, these elevators are probably Otis, but as of currently, they are labeled by KONE. These are definitely neat elevators, but I certainly do not like the roughness of these (and no Julien, that's not caused by KONE). The specifications can be found below. Brand: KONE Motor Type: Traction Controller Type: Digital Modernized: Yes (1980's, 2000's) Hall Stations: KONE KSS-500 -Illumination Color: White -Button Type: Flush, Hall Arrow Buttons -Panel Finishing: Gold Stainless Steel -ADA Compliant: Yes Hall Lanterns: KONE "Luxury" -Illumination Color: -Up: White -Down: White -Lantern Style: Luxury Lanterns w/ Series 220 Chimes Cab Stations: KSS-500 -Illumination Color: White -Button Type: Flush -Panel Finishing: Gold Stainless Steel -ADA Compliant: Yes Indicator: KSS-500 Dot-Matrix -Illumination Color: White Cab Lanterns: None Phone: Generic -ADA Compliant: Yes -Location of Phone: below Panel Door Type: Center Open -Safety Sensor Type: Infrared Fire Service: Phase I and Phase II 2000 Code Capacity: 2500 Lbs Speed: 350 FPM Distance Traveled: 90 Feet Floors Served: B(Basement), *1-8 Year Installed: 1908 Cab Design Description: -Floor: Black Carpet -Walls: Wood and Wall Paper -Ceiling: Textured Stainless Steel (Likely Original) -Front and Door: Wall Paper and Stainless Steel Paneling Other Observations or Details: These elevators are roughest at the basement. That's likely due to a guidance rail being worn out at the bottom.

Dale Ockerman Project, featuring James Durbin - "Love, You Can Take It With You"

iTunes Store - http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/love-you-can-take-it-you-single/id451251505 Title: Love, You Can Take It With You Performed by Dale Ockerman Project, featuring James Durbin Music & Lyrics by Dale Ockerman Recorded Spring 2010 at DEO "The Spot" Musicscool Studios James Durbin was Musicscool's first Scholarship recipient (and a 2011 American Idol Finalist!) About the song: "This song, 'Love, You Can Take It With You," first took form musically over a decade ago and has gone through many twists and turns with the words, other than the line at the end of the chorus I always had, 'somewhere down the line" which could translate as 'What Goes Around, Comes Around" to the West, or Karma and Reincarnation in the East. Either way, the concept of "Love Never Dies," in a materialistic time and culture, the wise ones always tell us "You Can't Take It with You". When James heard it, he really liked it and thought it would be a good tattoo! Thus the cover idea...I asked him what he thought of the performance and he said "this is rare for me, but I wouldn't change one thing about that vocal". Nor would I, it was basically a 'first take'. I'd spent a lot of time researching Beatles music as a member of the White Album Ensemble for a 8 years, and Led Zeppelin music- both as a teacher at Musicscool, and member of GUITARMY, a 10 guitar student LZ ensemble. I think the influence rubbed off a bit, in the vibe of this song. Both of these groups featured James Durbin for a few years prior to his exciting and well deserved "Rocket to Stardom". Thanks to Heidi and Hunter for the loan!"
