Andy Hurley reveals Fall Out Boy borrowed riffs from Racetraitor and Harvest | Aggressive Tendencies

02:11
Drummer Andy Hurley reveals Fall Out Boy took a breakdown from one of his other bands, Racetraitor, for the opening of "Thriller" and found inspiration in a Harvest song for "Grand Theft Autumn / Where Is Your Boy." He explains that in the band's earlier days they would try to adapt hardcore sensibilities to their pop punk sound. Though that's not as big of a concern anymore, he says he'll still throw in some double bass whenever he can. Interview conducted October 25, 2017. Huge thanks for Sunny Singh at Hate5Six for allowing us to use footage from a Racetraitor show he filmed.
