Acid Mine Drainage – 702 Interview with SAME on Acid Mine Drainage Treatment

22:23
http://www.same.co.za +27 11 9024900 SAME Water has recently been fortunate enough to have been awarded the Acid Mine Drainage Central Basin Pre Neutralisation Water Treatment Plant - Mechanical Contract, covering one of the most concerning domestic water treatment challenges which is the treatment of Acid Mine Drainage water throughout Gauteng and beyond. The mining operations on the Witwatersrand are split among three basins: • Western Basin stretching from Randfontein to Roodepoort • Central Basin stretching from Roodepoort to Boksburg • Eastern Basin stretching from Boksburg to Springs Mine water started accumulating in the old mine workings as underground operations ceased and withdrew from the basins. The mine water is characterised by acidity, high metal content and high salinity. If the mine water accumulation is allowed to continue, then the Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) will eventually fill the basins and start impacting on shallow groundwater bodies and surface water resources. The Inter Ministerial Committee on Acid Mine Drainage recommended specific actions to manage and control the AMD. As part of the short-term solution for the Central Basin, a new water treatment plant will be designed and built to treat excess mine water to a standard suitable for interim discharge to the environment. The treatment process will incorporate neutralisation and metals removal with limited desalination. The main components of the mine water collection system include the following: • Abstraction (feed) pumps at ERPM South West Vertical (SWV) Shaft • Transfer pipelines from ERPM SWV Shaft to the adjacent Central Basin Water Treatment Plant The main components of the dosing system for the Water Treatment Plant include the following process units: • Limestone (CaCO3) dosing system • Unslaked Lime dosing system (Quicklime, CaO) • Polymer (polyelectrolyte) dosing system The main components of the Central Basin Water Treatment Plant include the following process units: • Feed splitter box • Two parallel reactor modules consisting of: • Sludge conditioning tank • Reactor, consisting of: o Pre-neutralisation tank o Neutralisation tank o Gypsum crystallisation tank • Dosing mixing box • Two parallel thickeners • Sludge recycle pumps • Sludge mixing tank The main components of the treated water discharge and waste disposal systems include the following process units: • Treated water sump • Utility water pump station • Treated water transfer pipeline from the Central Basin Water Treatment Plant to Elsburg Spruit • Waste sludge pumps, pumping out of the sludge mixing tank (to be designed) • Waste transfer pipeline from the Central Basin Water Treatment Plant to DRDGold transfer pipeline (Knights/Brakpan TSF)

I’d recommend using a miter saw. Remove hardware from the cooler. Assemble the legs. I used a Kreg Jig to drill 4 pocket holes in one board for each leg. Then connect using wood glue and 2 1/2 inch Kreg screws. Assemble the frame for the cooler out of 2×4 boards. Connect each 2×4 with 2 1/2 inch screws. You can make it as snug as you’d like. I left about a half inch of play on each side to make it easy to remove the cooler if needed. Use the cooler as a template or measure the cooler to determine how long to cut these boards. Attach the 4 corners to the top frame. Use 2 1/2 inch wood screws and put about 4 for each corner. Drill a pilot hole before putting the screws in so the wood doesn’t split. Add the apron. Rip fence boards on a table saw and then glue and nail them to the top as shown in the photo. This will create about a half inch overhang on each side. I cut the apron to 3 1/2 inches wide. Create the cooler support out of 2×4’s Place the frame upside down on a flat surface and slide the cooler in place. Next, put the support at the base of the cooler and attach to the legs using screws and pocket holes. If you don’t have a kreg jig, you could pre-drill and then run screws in at an angle. Add fence pickets around all sides to hide the cooler. I started by attaching a board in the middle of the sections and then moved to the left and right. Use as many full width fence boards as you can. Rip the outer boards on a table saw to get a perfect fit. I’d recommend spacing the boards roughly 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch from each other. Add trim horizontally on each side. Rip fence boards into 2 inch strips and then glue and nail the trim in place. Place the cooler in the frame and then mark where the hole will go through the side of the wood surround. Then drill a small hole through the wood from the inside. Next, use a larger bit or hole saw from the outside to finish the full sized hole. This is where the piping will go through. Determine the height and width of your cooler lid. Mine was a little less than 2 inches high and so I ripped a couple 2×4 boards to make them 2 inches tall. Then place the boards around the perimeter and cut to size. The lid should be snug with the wood. Attach the plastic cooler lid to the wood using 2 inch screws. Pre-drill and then put in the screw. Make sure the outer part of the lid is flush with the wood. The inner part will protrude from the wood because it is what will allow the cooler to stay in place when the lid goes down. The inner portion will seal the cooler. Cut 4 fence boards down to size and rip them each to the same width on the table saw. Leave about an 1/8 of an inch between each. Use glue and an air nailer to keep them in place. ---- Looking for more DIY videos? Be sure to check out our channel and subscribe for updates! We post a weekly tutorial every Thursday. Ore Identifier

13:24
Ore Identifier is a step by step process of the ore control production activities. Here engineers can create their drill hole pattern design, transfer codified pattern information to a database, and load the assay information from laboratory back to Minero. Then engineers can perform estimations using ordinary Kriging. After the estimation engineers can create their optimal mining polygons using edition and reporting tools. Please visit our web page www.mineromining.com for more information. Note: Marvin block model is in metric units; therefore, the block dimensions are in meters. The "Procedure" pattern in some sites are called “pre-splitting”, some other sites call it “finals" or "trim blasting".

3D Printing Link's Hylian Shield from Zelda on Ultimaker 3D in High Res with Commentary

22:18
Please Like, Favorite & Subscribe Hey guys, I've received a lot of requests to show a 3D print from setup to completion so this video runs a little longer then usual. I will show you in this video how to tape the build surface and level the bed and show you how to print the model using the Ultimaker controller so the printer operates 100% detached from the PC while printing. I also show you how to detach the completed object from the build surface using a custom tool you can make out of any putty knife. I also show you how to cleanup the model and remove the support material after the print is done. The object I print in this video is the Zelda Hylian Shield which completely kicks ass. I found the model on Thingaverse.com under a Creative Common License. The model was created by ShopBox and the URL to download it from is http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:82693. The model is printed at a .15mm layer height with solid fill to produce an indestructible print. This is the second shield I have printed, the first one I chromed and posted pictures of on my Facebook page, make sure you head over there and take a look - http://facebook.com/barnaculesmancave. I have several other videos on my channel printing things from transformers and portal. If you have any questions leave them in the comments and I will respond since I love interacting with everyone. If you have a suggestion or an item from Thingiverse or somewhere else that you think I should print please just ask. Also know that I will be printing the liberator firearm once I get a heated bed so I can print in ABS. Always accompanying Link's sword, a shield is a defensive item which has appeared in every game of The Legend of Zelda series to date. The shield is Link's primary protective defense used to deflect objects, guard from attack, and in some instances, reflect light onto other objects. Appearing in every Zelda title to date, the shield is not only a trademark of the series but completes Link's hero-like appearance, along with any sword he happens to wield at the time. From defending Link to being the favorite snack of Like Likes, the design and function of the shield greatly differs throughout the series. The Hylian Shield is the traditional shield of the Knights of Hyrule and a shield commonly used by Link in the 3D Zelda games. Unlike Wooden Shields, the Hylian Shield will not burn upon contact with fire. Throughout the Zelda games, the Hylian Shield has changed little in terms of overall appearance, always bearing the symbol of the Triforce and, beneath it, the Hylian Crest. The first Hylian Shield was a legendary shield guarded by the Thunder Dragon Lanayru, who created a challenge to judge whether someone would be worthy of wielding the shield. Shield appears in... Ocarina of Time Twilight Princess Skyward Sword Super Smash Bros Soulcalibur II Similar Shields in... Climate activists rally ahead of COP23 Summit

02:26
(5 Nov 2017) Hundreds of anti-coal demonstrators protested at surface-mining coal site in western Germany on Sunday, ahead of an upcoming global climate conference in Bonn. The protesters had split from a demonstration in the town of Kerpen-Buir to march to the coal excavator behind a banner reading "Burn borders not coal." Police in riot gear used batons and tear gas to try and deter some of the demonstrators, but there were no major incidents reported. One protester explained they had entered the site to try and put pressure on the government, adding that without direct action authorities would not change anything. The Hambach forest, located in Rhineland, Germany, has been a concession area for the expansion of one of Germany's largest brown coal open cast mines, operated by the RWE (Rheinisch-Westfalisches Elektrizitatswerk) Power AG Company. Angela Merkel has been dubbed the "Climate Chancellor" for her ambitious targets for renewable energy, but Germany still gets around 40 per cent of its electricity from coal-fired plants. Ahead of the 2017 United Nations Climate Conference (COP - Conference of the Parties) which begins on Monday, many protesters have been urging her to move faster to wean the country off coal. Email: [email protected] Steemit: https://steemit.com/@jaywisefree Twitter: https://twitter.com/@JustinWiseFree Hello everybody in the crypto biosphere! Today we're going to be talking about sporks and forks, and everything in between. Let's talk about: - Ethereum Classic potentially setting itself up to divest a large amount of mining power currently being utilized by Ethereum. - The upcoming Ethereum Classic airdrop. - So the CLO airdrop is coming up. In the video I discuss where the CLO project came from, what the purpose of the Callisto token is, and how I'm playing the upcoming airdrop in light of the recent pump of ETC, as all airforks. I don't like the idea of chasing airdrops or hard forks unless I really like the project coming out. However, it's always nice to receive crypto dividends. I've been a HODLer of ETC, and my long-term goals move well past the current coinsplit situation. However, if you haven't held ETC, and you're looking to get in the trade to profit, I give a cautionary tale of how I got burnt hodling NXT purely to enjoy the IGNIS airdrop. IGNIS hasen't yielded the profits that I've desired yet, and the price of NXT plummeted sharply before the airdrop. This is because traders rode the pump up knowing that people would buy it up in anticipation of the free cryptos they would receive, and then sold their shares at a nice profit point. The poor HODLers of NXT got hit twice, once by the first dumpers who dumped it before the airdrop, and then in again in the mad scramble immediately following the airdrop of people unloading their NXT to get out of a failing trade. Rough stuff. Now I don't think ETC will drop as significantly or as long as NXT did, although that option is always a possibility. Listening to @MoneyTrigz on @bitcoinmeister the other day added another dimension to the scuttlebutt that's been kicked around about mining power switching to ETC when Ethereum makes the transition to Proof of Stake. In the video I show some surface sources that point to Jihan Wu (operator of the mining behemoth Bitmain) looking into Ethereum Classic as an alternative for ETH mining, Jeff Garzik's new ICO launching with ETC first instead of ETH, and Bitmain's news that it will be releasing ASIC F3 miners compatible with ETH in the second quarter of 2018. All of this interesting information leads us to a serious consideration of where the mining power would move from ETH if PoS was introduced, and ETC as a potential competitor and concurrantly, a seriously undervalued coin. Bitcoin Private is coming soon! In here I go over the team briefly, what I like about the project, and how I'm playing the Z Classic splitting. Update: Currently there is a poll to get Bittrex to support the BTCP airdrop. Heard of Mimble Whimble? It's risky out there right now for an alt-trader. Bitcoin looks beautiful. Stay safe traders. Keep hodling hodlers. BLAST PATTERN DRILLING SMALL MINE

01:25
Cone pattern: 4 holes with explosive in diamond pattern taper inward 10 feet deep. 5th hole or more in center left empty for material to implode, relieve stress and make loose 'muck' - the fractured ore. Cone pattern permits explosive force to push fractured rock to open side of mine. Miners are a safe distance away exercising other required safety regulations including the buddy system. No one ever enters a mine alone.
