INVESTING IN INDEX FUNDS 📈 Best Vanguard Index Funds To Invest In!

05:47
In this video we will be talking about index funds and exchange traded funds or ETF's. Here are the index funds or ETF's that I recommend investing in. I recommend investing in Vanguard index funds. Vanguard index funds have some of the lowest expense ratios in the industry. While it may not seem like a lot, high expense funds could be costing you a significant amount of money in the long run. It is important to consider the expense ratio of any fund you invest in. Mutual funds typically have a much higher expense ratio compared to index funds. Here are the Vanguard index funds I recommend! This is the ETF listing as well as the index fund listing. 1. Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF ($VTI) 2. Vanguard Total International Stock ETF ($VXUS) 3. Vanguard Total World Stock ETF ($VT) 4. Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund ($VTSAX) 5. Vanguard Total International Stock Index Fund ($VTIAX) 6. 🔴ETF Index Funds Showing More Strength

04:37
ETF Index Funds Showing More Strength. The DOW is up about 40 in pre-market trading on Monday. European stocks are up also on Monday morning. The DIA formed a doji type candle on Friday. A close above the high of Friday will be positive for the market. If the the ETF index funds close below the lows of last Friday, there could be some weakness in the market for a few days. The VIX and TLT bond funds will be on the watch list. A rising VIX and TLT will be more negative for the market. Even though the market surged last week off the lows, the bonds held up pretty good. That may be telling us money is not moving out of bonds and into equities. We need to keep an eye on this. Today we get the Existing Home Sales report.

5 Biggest Investment Ripoffs to Avoid ❌(shady scam alert)

23:55
Don't get ripped off by these shady investments that are basically scams in disguise. I've seen too many people financially wounded from buying this crap. 😠 There is nothing worse than getting ripped off, losing money to something you shouldn't have bought in the first place. Because someone misrepresented something and sold it to you just to make money. Being a financial advisor, I’ve seen so many people that have bought investments that they shouldn’t have. They didn’t understand it and their advisor sold them something that they didn’t need. Thankfully, you are watching this video and I want to prevent you from being Ripped Off! I am going to highlight the 5 biggest investments to avoid because I don't want you to lose your money. ➡️ 1. Loaded Mutual Funds (A Shares) [1:39] - These are mutual funds that when they are sold the advisor or broker that sold them are going to make a commission for that sell. ➡️ 2. Actively Managed Indexed Funds [6:01] - This is one of the most common investments that people get into when they start investing. ➡️ 3. Non-traded REIT’s [9:51] - REIT’s can be a good investment - but Non-Traded REIT’s are different, the are “Illiquid” meaning you can’t cash out your money until it comes due (which could be 10 years or longer). ➡️ 4. Whole Life Insurance [14:14] - It is not 100% bad, but for the most part investing in whole life insurance is not a good move. Buy a term policy, it is so much cheaper! ➡️ 5. Indexed Universal Life Insurance [19:05] - These policies may make sense if you have maxed out your 401K and Roth IRA. So what is it? It is a policy that is tied to some sort of index, so you are subject to what the index does. You can make a lot of money if you chose to invest wisely. There are so many scams, and so many ripoffs you can avoid. Have you bought one of these investments? Have you been ripped off? Have you bought an investment, that I didn't’ mention, and feel like you’ve been ripped off? 😤 Let me know in the comments. Let me know what you bought and how you got ripped off. ★☆★ Want More Good Financial Cents? ★☆★ 💻 Check out my blog here: https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/ Listen to my podcast here: 🎙 https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/good-financial-cents-podcast-investing-building-wealth/id775107294?mt=2 Pick up my best selling book, Soldier of Finance, here: 📗 http://amzn.to/2xOH78V Connect with me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/jjeffrose My most favorite inspiration T-shirt line, Compete Every Day: 👕 https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/compete

The #1 Account All Wealthy People Have (the $102 million secret)

14:42
Today we are going to talk about a *special* type of account. It is the type of account that you have to have if your goal is to become wealthy. I want to answer some questions like - what is this account - what makes it so attractive - and why or how are wealthy people taking advantage of it. With those that are familiar with how to build wealth, you often hear they invest in real estate, they are entrepreneurs, they are investing into companies, private equity…..you hear all these different ways that they are building wealth. And all of these are true. But the one thing you have to realize is it is not just what they are buying, but how they are buying it. You always hear that the rich always take advantage of all the loopholes and tax breaks, and there is some truth to that, but these are not secret things. These are all things that are public information. I share all of this because this is what led me to opening the type of account that I opened. It is a self-directed 401K Plan. Now you can have a self-directed 401K or a self-directed IRA. We will talk about that a little more. All of this became popular back when Mitt Romney was running for office. When it became public that his personal IRA was worth over $102 Million. This was phenomenal - you know there are limits to how much you can put into an IRA annually. Right now that number is $5,500. So with these limits in place, how do you grow an IRA to that magnitude? 💵 A self-directed IRA or 401K is an account that you have full discretion over choosing where your money is invested. There are two things you cannot invest into with an IRA and those are Life Insurance and Collectibles. So what can you invest into? Real estate, Gold, options, hedge funds, limited partnerships, tax liens, private stock, and international real estate are all options. 🏡 Right now there are only 47 custodians that will let you open a self-directed IRA or 401K. Out of that 47, a lot of them do not offer all of these choices. There are over 791 Individuals that have IRA balances between $10 and $25 Million. All of these figures are from 2011, so I am sure the numbers have grown since then. So what’s the catch? What are the risks in having one of these accounts? The first risk is cost. You can expect to pay a lot higher fees for this type of account. Another concern is IRS filing requirements, meaning there are more stringent regulations you have to follow. The third is prohibited transactions, some examples would include using IRA money to purchase your personal property or a vacation property. So the investments within a self-directed 401K and IRA are the same, the difference is the amount of money that you can put into this account. With the IRA the max you can put in per year is $5,500 so if you want to invest in real estate it will take quite a while before you have enough money to make that type of investment.👛 Having my own business I was able to invest in my own self-directed 401K and the investments that I make inside of that include peer-to-peer lending, real estate notes, and things like that. But because I am a business owner and I have a 401K, I am able to put in a lot more money than that $5,500. There are some years that I am able to put in up to $50,000. With my wife also as an employee, we are both able to max out our accounts. 💰💰 I am more or less just sitting back waiting for these opportunities. I know they are coming and I know I can write a check when these investments come up. That is what makes this type of account more powerful. You don’t have that flexibility with eTrade or something like that. I hope you enjoyed the video! I am curious, have you ever considered opening up a self-directed IRA or 401K? Do you already have one established? I want to hear your experiences and hear what you have learned while setting up your account. ▶ Check out my gear on Kit: https://kit.com/jeffrosecfp ★☆★ Want More Good Financial Cents?

Exchange-traded fund

42:53
An exchange-traded fund (ETF) is an investment fund traded on stock exchanges, much like stocks. An ETF holds assets such as stocks, commodities, or bonds, and trades close to its net asset value over the course of the trading day. Most ETFs track an index, such as a stock index or bond index. ETFs may be attractive as investments because of their low costs, tax efficiency, and stock-like features. ETFs are the most popular type of exchange-traded product. Only authorized participants, which are large broker-dealers that have entered into agreements with the ETF's distributor, actually buy or sell shares of an ETF directly from or to the ETF, and then only in creation units, which are large blocks of tens of thousands of ETF shares, usually exchanged in-kind with baskets of the underlying securities. Authorized participants may wish to invest in the ETF shares for the long-term, but they usually act as market makers on the open market, using their ability to exchange creation units with their underlying securities to provide liquidity of the ETF shares and help ensure that their intraday market price approximates the net asset value of the underlying assets. Other investors, such as individuals using a retail broker, trade ETF shares on this secondary market. This video is targeted to blind users. There’s now platforms being built that are called second and third generation blockchains, I’m sure fourth and fifth are coming too. Today let’s take a look at what Bitcoins kids and grand kids can do. First generation blockchains focus on moving value, maintaining a ledger, ideal payment systems. Think of Bitcoin, Litecoin, Monero, and Dash to name a few. These functions represent the core of why bitcoin was created. Another core aspect to Bitcoin is the fact that it was created to be open source. By making the code behind Bitcoin open source, Satoshi Nakamoto gave anyone the opportunity to learn from, build on and expand beyond it. This is how we’ve made it to the point of having what are called second and third generation blockchains. Second generation blockchains are those like Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, NEO and QTUM to name a few. These are considered second generation because they’ve taken this idea of recording transactions on a blockchain and expanded it to incorporate programming languages. These second generation blockchains have unleashed smart contracts. These allow for customizable transactions. You can custom create transactions to execute however best fits the needs of the parties involved. Now we’ve come to third generation blockchains, these present themselves as blockchains that can service massive amounts of people and self-govern. This is when that term “scale” comes to action. Bitcoin’s huge network is what makes it the most robust, secure and decentralized. But even so, it is showing us how difficult it can be to scale when the network experiences huge influxes of transactions due to an exponential growth of users. The larger Bitcoin’s network grows, the more decentralized it becomes, and some could argue that the harder it is to reach consensus on how to deal with particular issues. The beauty of open source is that it gives developers the ability to see how a network is designed, and now with the ability to see how things are panning out, they can make changes right from the start in an effort to avoid trouble in the future. Third generation blockchains have self-governance at their core. This can be seen with, but is not limited to the following blockchains: Bitshares, Steem, Lisk, ARK These blockchains all use Delegated Proof of Stake. Although you can certainly argue that this is indeed a type of centralization or bottleneck in an otherwise decentralized system, it’s a system that allows every participant of the network to vote regardless of the amount of coins that they hold. Delegated Proof of Stake works like this: There are a set number of Witnesses, usually a small number, who work to mine blocks and monitor the network. These Witnesses gain this position by being voted in. Because all votes have equal weight this can be seen as a decentralization of the voting process, i.e. it isn’t limited to masternode holders like in Proof of Stake consensus. Because there is a smaller group of individuals working to secure the network, needed changes can occur much more efficiently. Also, because Witnesses are reliant of votes, it is in their best interest to pay attention to the concerns of the other participants on the network. As for serving the masses and being able to scale, it’s interesting to see how the developers of the Bitshares blockchain have figured out a way to make the processing done by nodes a much more efficient activity. It’s called graphene, not the ultra light, super durable material, a graphene blockchain is one that is able to process transactions very quickly and efficiently. Bitshares is not the only blockchain that’s designed in this way, Dan Larimer brought it to the Steem blockchain and to EOS as well.

Email Me at [email protected] Or Call My Office at 248-731-7829 This is the 2nd post in a short series that I'm doing all about investor education. So if you watched yesterday's video, I talked about mutual funds, more specifically, I talked about why many mutual funds fail to beat their underlying benchmark index. I also talked a about a trend that's been happening for the past 10 years or so where more and more money has been flowing out of these active-based mutual funds and investments into passive index-based investments, either through mutual funds or through ETFs. So what I wanted to do here in today's video was to talk more about what I think is probably the most popular of these benchmark indexes that people sometimes invest in, The S&P 500. More specifically, I want to talk about what people are actually owning if they buy into the S&P 500, because I think a lot of people may not fully understand what it is they own if they're do. First of all, the S&P 500 is what is referred to as a market-weighted index. And what that means is that the largest stocks within that index, or the stocks with the biggest market capitalization, are going to be where most of the money is going to go within that index. So when we look at the 500 stocks that make up the index, we quickly realize that it's very top heavy. If we look at the top three stocks, it accounts for about 10% of all the money that's in the S&P 500. Currently, those top three stocks are Amazon, Microsoft and Apple. So three technology stocks make up 10% of the portfolio. When we look at the top 10 stocks in the portfolio, it accounts for about 20% of all the money that's in the S&P. 50 stocks account for about 50% of the S&P 500. And when we get to 150 stocks, we now have about 75% of all the money that's in the S&P 500 is in just those top 150 names. So you can imagine that when we look at the bottom part of that list, the 350 stocks that are at the bottom, those stocks could be going up a lot, or going down a lot, and they're still not going to have nearly the kind of impact as the stocks at the top of the list, in terms of what impact that's going to have on the performance. One of the reasons why I wanted to illustrate this is first of all, I think a lot of people don't really understand how that money is distributed, but I also believe that there's some inherent risks with the way the S&P 500 is modeled here, the fact that so much of that money is going into those top companies. One of the things I talked about in the last video, was that money is flowing out of active-based mutual funds and flowing into passive investments like the S&P 500. As that happens, anytime somebody adds money to to S&P 500, it gets disproportionally invested in those top stocks, those top 50 stocks, or those top 150 companies. And in my opinion, I think that artificially inflates those prices, and makes some of those prices a little bit unrealistic. One of the ways that we can tell how expensive a stock is, is to look at something called the price to earnings ratio. Now price to earnings tells us, again, how expensive that stock is relative to how much money it's going to make, and it's probably one of the best value measurements that we have out there to determine how expensive a stock is. When we look at those top 10 stocks, just as an example, we learn that those top 10 stocks have a price to earnings ratio of 43. And by historical measures, that's pretty high, because when we look at the entire basket of 500 stocks, we actually see that the entire basket actually has a price to earnings ratio of just under 18. So those top 10 stocks are trading for over two times the valuation of the basket as a whole. Continued on Blog...

Cramer teaches investors how to use charts to detect a phony rally on Wall Street

04:09
show chapters How to use charts to detect a phony stock rally 6:39 PM ET Wed, 22 Nov 2017 | 01:11 CNBCs Jim Cramer may not be a chartist, but he understands why charts are so important for predicting the markets major moves. You must consider them as if they are footprints at a scene of a crime, the Mad Money host said. These footprints trace out what big money managers might be doing with their buying and selling of stocks. Cramer cares about charts because theres a remarkable, self-fulfilling nature of charting stocks. Some of the best investment ideas can come from chart-inspired brainstorming sessions, he said. But for Cramer, the best way to produce results is by carefully analyzing both a stocks fundamentals and its technicals for more comprehensive results. A good technical analysis means being able to find the indicators that will help to determine the overall direction of the market, especially since so many stocks are influenced by S&P 500 stock futures. Sometimes, technicians start by comparing the chart of an individual company to the chart of an average to determine the legitimacy of a move, a tactic known as confirmation. For instance, if the Dow Jones industrial average hits a new high, historically, it is not sustainable unless the Dow Jones transportation average also hits a high, confirming the breakout status of the Dow itself. If both the industrials and the transports hit new highs, Cramer feels secure blessing the move as legitimate. Other indicators that Cramer watches are the banking index , the housing index , the semiconductor index and the ETF that encompasses large retailers . I like to see all of these indexes move up in sync before I truly bless a market move, the Mad Money host said. You get all of these indexes rolling higher, and you have to put the maximum amount of chips on the table. The inverse is also true. If theres a move up without confirmation from a majority of the indexes, then the whole rally could be fake and shouldnt be trusted. Cramer saw this occur right before the 2008 financial crisis, when there was no participation from the financials, retail or tech. The Mad Money host also considers stocks advances and declines, which indicate if a rally is too concentrated. He likes to see a market with good participation from many different groups. Additionally, Cramer looks at the new-high-to-new-low ratio, since stocks that make the new-high list are worth watching. Its not easy to get on the list, so any company hitting new highs must be doing exceptionally well, be part of a strong sector, and be privy to strong geopolitical forces pushing it higher, he said. You may not be a technician, but you need to know what the charts are saying and you need to know how to read the internals to verify a real move or a phony one, Cramer added. John Heins & Whitney Tilson: "The Art of Value Investing" | Talks at Google

01:19:04
“John Heins and Whitney Tilson, co-founders of the Value Investor Insight newsletter, have done a thorough job of explaining how to look for stocks that are trading at significant discounts to what they are worth — the concept known as the value style of investing.…the authors present a clear framework for ferreting out undervalued companies.” —The New York Times About the book: In The Art of Value Investing, John Heins and Whitney Tilson offer a comprehensive set of answers to the questions that everyone investing seriously in the stock market should have thought through clearly before committing his or her hard-earned capital to the endeavor. What market efficiencies will I try to exploit? What analytical edge can I hope to have? How specifically will I decide to buy or sell? For answers, they call on market-beating money managers – including such investing luminaries as Seth Klarman, David Einhorn, Bill Ackman, Howard Marks, Mason Hawkins and Julian Robertson – who have graced the pages over the past ten years of their highly regarded newsletter, Value Investor Insight. To illustrate one of the equity investor’s most important tasks – how to value a company – they will present a particularly relevant current case study … on Google. About the authors: John Heins is the co-founder and President of Value Investor Media, Inc. and Editor-in-Chief of Value Investor Insight and SuperInvestor Insight. Previously, he served as CEO of Bertelsmann AG’s U.S. magazine subsidiary, ran AOL’s Personal Finance business and was a reporter and staff writer for Forbes magazine. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and earned an M.B.A. from Stanford University. Whitney Tilson is the co-founder and Chairman of Value Investor Media, Inc. and founder of Kase Capital, which manages value-oriented private investment partnerships. Prior to launching his investment-management career in 1999, he co-founded with Harvard Business School Professor Michael Porter the Initiative for a Competitive inner City, was a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group and was a founding member of Teach for America. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Government and an M.B.A., both from Harvard University.

S&P 1775 Before 1975

10:41
My title is not a joke. It's a critical problem many investors should be addressing about the market's next 5% move. And I wrote this Tuesday morning October 14th when the S&P 500 index was making one last try for 1900. In a strong bull market, it's relatively easy to have views like "2100 Before 1700" (my call since the spring correction in growth stocks). But when market volatility and uncertainty reach levels not seen in many quarters, then preparing for a bigger correction to buy might be a very good idea. Here's why I think a bigger correction is afoot. None of these items are sufficient by themselves. They are all working to make a bigger snowball as it rolls down hill... 1. Market Ran Ahead. The market ran ahead of the economy and earnings to price-in the best of expectations (we understood and embraced this and continued to "buy the dips" because it worked far better than "the correction is coming!") 2. Change of Character. The relentless heavy selling in 6 of the past 13 sessions is a change of character for the market 3. Broad & Deep Breakdown. The change was most evident in market BREADTH whereby the NYSE Composite (including many mid-cap and small-cap stocks) was getting taken to the woodshed. In short, the market was already in a severe correction under the surface of the quiet mega-cap S&P 100 and Nasdaq 100. Even though some megas like AAPL will still offer safe haven, these indexes are now headed for their double-digit corrections. 4. Growth Re-Set Fire Alarm. Why all the violent selling now? It's at least two-fold: First, global growth expectations are getting re-set. The market's pass to "run ahead" has been revoked and now everything is in question as QE ends. Second, selling begets more selling as fund managers who never imagined they'd have to let go of their best holdings in Q4 are panicking. 5. Shoot First, Think Later. Some large investors might say "But my positive economic and earnings outlook hasn't changed, why should I sell?" But when enough other players are exiting stocks en masse like they did in the Energy sector in the past month, or semiconductors last week, growth assumptions get questioned, if not tossed. Which sector is next to warn about global growth and demand? 6. Dollar Schmollar. What about the strong dollar? It's really a symptom in the feedback loop, not a cause. If Europe is slowing (if that's possible from standing still) AND short-term interest rates hikes are on the Fed launch pad, then it's a perfect storm for the higher dollar since the dollar index we hear quoted is 58% euro-weighted and short end yield curve differentials drive FX moves. This, of course, impacts multinational top and bottom lines. 7. How Long? The correction should take another 3 to 6 weeks to work out. And then it could take another 3-6 weeks for the market to recover and make new highs. Since a lot of historical evidence pointed toward a strong Q4 -- especially after a strong 20 months -- this correction process will bring lots of unexpected pain to many investors. 1775? Really? I'm not saying with 75% certainty that we see S&P 1775 Before 1975. But I think 1800 is a pretty good bet. This is not a reason to panic. It's actually a terrific opportunity to pick up bargains on the way down while others are panicking. The economy and earnings will likely be seen as still very good for my target of 2250 next year. Bottom line: Make your buy lists and set up your "order buckets." Their should be some great bargains out there soon. And don't be fooled by the bounce back above 1900 in October. It will get sold faster than you can say "50-day moving average."

What Are the Common Investing Mistakes?

04:00
http://profitableinvestingtips.com/investing-tips/what-are-the-common-investing-mistakes What Are the Common Investing Mistakes? By www.ProfitableInvestingTips.com It is unfortunately easier to lose money than to make money when investing. The famous investor, Warren Buffett, has pointed out that the first rule of investing is not to lose money and the second rule is to remember the first. So, how do you make money instead of lose it when investing? There are common mistakes that investors make and if you can avoid these mistakes your investing will proceed with fewer losses and more gains. What are the common investing mistakes? First let’s see what Investopedia says about the 7 common investor mistakes. Of the mistakes made by investors, seven of them are repeat offenses. In fact, investors have been making these same mistakes since the dawn of modern markets, and will likely be repeating them for years to come. You can significantly boost your chances of investment success by becoming aware of these typical errors and taking steps to avoid them. Here is the list of common investing mistakes and suggestions for how to avoid each mistake. No Plan Create a plan that includes your goals and objectives, takes account of risks and sets benchmarks to aim for. Decide how much you are going to allocate to investing and consider how you are going to diversify your investing. Too Short of a Time Horizon Because most investors are looking to make money that they can use years later such as for retirement they should avoid being too short sighted and invest for a decades long time horizon. Excessive Focus on Financial Media News about how someone made a lot of money does not necessarily mean that you can make money. And if someone is selling a newsletter for $50 a month claiming that you can make millions, why are they bothering to sell newsletters instead of investing in their idea? Learn how to calculate intrinsic stock value and spend time looking for bargains. Not Rebalancing You need to examine each stock that you buy using an intrinsic value approach. And you need to continue to evaluate the stocks in your portfolio and dump the losers. Unrewarded Trust in Portfolio Managers The sad fact of the matter is that the majority of investment fund managers underperform their benchmarks. During many years an investor would have been better off with their money in an ETF that tracked the S&P 500 than in a fund where they were paying money to someone who is steadily shrinking the investment portfolio. Not Enough Indexing Rather than looking for the miracle portfolio manager look to index funds that typically rank better than two-thirds of actively managed funds. Chasing Performance Perhaps the most common investing mistake is that investors look at stocks, funds, market sectors that have been doing well and invest in them without realizing that they are already overbought. This also is why you need to be careful about reading the financial news because it is, in fact, yesterday’s news. And the Psychology of Investing Fear and greed are the twin demons that lead to many investment losses. If you want a quick look at how fear or greed is driving markets check the CNN Money Fear & Greed Index. When fear is high investors flee the market and when greed is high they pile in, in both cases this happens even when fundamentals indicate the opposite. https://youtu.be/AJsLZ0oW-hY

Why Gold Will Outperform Bitcoin in 2018

01:07:15
Subscribe to stay up to date with the latest videos ► https://www.sbry.co/suBiH Episode 34 - Why Gold Will Outperform Bitcoin in 2018 Porter and Buck are back from holiday break to give you their boldest predictions for 2018. The first one’s a doozy for regular listeners as Porter provides granular detail on how the stage is set for gold and other commodities to have a massive stealth bull market this year. Buck asks Porter about the pros and cons of owning physical gold bullion versus gold stocks. You’ll also hear Porter reveal the one gold equity he favors that gives you most of gold’s benefits, without owning a single ounce of the precious metal. Porter and Buck welcome best-selling author and founder of the Wealth Factory, Garrett Gunderson. As a teenager, Garrett launched his first company and won business competitions across the state of Utah. By age 26 he was a multi-millionaire and partner in several financial enterprises. He tells Porter about his new upcoming book, Five Day Weekend, and the three things he’s writing about right now that will help you build your financial infrastructure and grow your money. The mailbag is stuffed with reader feedback on Jack Reacher, gold, cryptos, and a question for Porter on capital efficiency. Buck tells Porter about a phone call he recently received from Ivanka Trump (no kidding), and “Arianna” makes an appearance to give Porter tips on staying healthy in 2018. Porter reveals why he's simultaneously excited about blockchain technology, and incredibly skeptical on 97% of cryptos. 3:31 Porter tells Buck how the central bank of Switzerland made a profit last year bigger than any private corporation in the world by doing this one thing. 8:08 Buck and Porter share their biggest predictions for 2018. Porter reveals why he believes gold will outperform Bitcoin this year and Buck talks about the two different Trump presidencies. The man we see in public and on Twitter, and the man working behind the scenes with lawmakers to implement meaningful legislation. 11:16 Buck asks if it's better to own gold-related stocks or physical gold. Porter has a No. 1 rule for investor newbies thinking about investing in gold mining companies, and it comes down to one word. 13:10 Porter reveals his favorite gold stock and a way to be a "gold miner" that has nothing to do with pulling the metal out of the ground. 16:06 Buck asks if gold can really go on a tear in 2018 if the economy does well. Porter explains the real reason gold performs well when just about everything else does poorly, and he talks about the invisible actor that's scrambling the equation. 21:23 Buck introduces Garrett Gunderson, Founder and Chief Wealth Architect of The Wealth Factory and its mission to bring about wealth and economic independence for one million people. Porter asks Garrett how he tracks his goal to one million liberated readers, and Garrett shares his progress. 28:38 Garrett shares his Fourth Law of self-enrichment, noting how he saw it play out tragically in his coal-mining hometown. Porter agrees and explains why how hard you work has very little impact on whether or not you become rich. 37:26 Porter asks Garrett about the keys to what Garrett calls "the Rockefeller Strategy" – how do the wealthy get and stay that way? Garrett shares the three family dynamics they tap into. 41:40 Porter asks Garrett about new investors who anticipate having decades to grow their wealth – what are the very first, 1-2-3 steps they should be taking? Garrett shares what he did when he was 19 that turned out to be transformative. 49:49 Buck recalls a phone call he recently received from Ivanka Trump after the POTUS saw him laying the smackdown on the FBI on FOX. "Arianna" pays a visit to give Porter tips on staying healthy in 2018. 50:50 A listener writes in with a question for Porter about capital efficiency and tells us he's a new listener after buying Porter's American Jubilee book.
