Building the ULTIMATE Waterfall [Realistic Scenery Vol.11]
Have you ever wondered how to model an awesome waterfall on your own layout or diorama? This tutorial will show you exactly what to do! In this easy to follow tutorial I’ll step you through the process, from a bare piece of foam right up to a completed scene that will amaze anyone who sees it. This is quite a long video so here are some key links in the video that will take you right to the juice parts about making the waterfall: Painting the river bed: 17:15 Mixing and pouring the resin: 22:16 Making and attaching the waterfall strips: 28:55 Adding water ripples: 32:59 Adding rough water waves: 34:23 Creating the water mist at the bottom of the waterfall: 39:55 Working with resin can be intimidating for even a seasoned modeler, especially when making a model waterfall. The techniques I used to create this HO scale waterfall and river can easily be applied to almost any other scale, from N scale to O scale the methods I used can still be applied. If you’d like to help support the channel you can join me on patreon, I have some rewards for patrons depending on the level of support https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?c=175113 For more information on building the waterfall and more images you will find them at: http://www.bouldercreekrailroad.com IMOPRTANT NOTE: In the video after pouring the resin and leaving it to dry I apply scenic glue over the entire scene once I finished adding the ground foam and textures, the glue also ends up covering the river surface, because the river is made using two part epoxy the excess glue and alcohol is easily wiped away. If you use something like Woodland Scenics Realistic Water you will need to make sure you don’t get any glue or alcohol over the river surface, the glue and alcohol are partially absorbed by the surface and it will lose its glossy appearance. If you are using Woodland Scenics Realistic Water make sure to only pour the river after you have applied the scenery and sealed it with glue. Additional Note: The river is quite deep, approximately 2-3cm in parts, using a two part epoxy is usually not a problem with deep pours however 3cm is approaching the limit. If you use Woodland Scenics Realistic Water you need to make sure the river is poured no thicker than 0.5cm deep, any deeper and you risk the river cracking as it dries. To get more depth with the realistic water you’ll need to apply multiple pours until the depth you desire is reached. Rivers & Streams - Realistic Scenery Vol.8
A water scene can dramatically change the look of an already fantastic model and make it look even better! In this easy to follow tutorial I’ll step you through modeling with water from a plain piece of foam board right up to an amazing looking river scene! This model river is made in HO scale however as with most of the tutorials I do the techniques can be applied to not only HO scale but N scale and lager scales as well. The technique I use can be applied for a slow flowing river or stream modeling a lake, modeling rapids and modeling a waterfall as well. I use EnviroTex Lite to model this diorama however most two part epoxies will work just as well and you can also use Woodland Scenics Realistic Water which is an acrylic that is easy to use and easy to clean. A lot of modelers will avoid adding a water scene to their model railroad layout or war gaming terrain because in the past a lot of others have had bad experiences using the various water products however… with some careful planning and proper preparation you should have no problems working with these products. The technique I use for this diorama can be applied in many different scenarios from modelling a dam to modelling white water rapids and they will all look absolutely amazing. When it comes to adding ripples be sure to only apply a thin layer of Mod Podge, if the mod podge layer is too thick it will become cloudy on humid days as it absorbs the moisture out of the air, the Woodland Scenics Water Effects also has the same problem when applied very thick. I hope you are enjoying the tutorials, I spend many hours (when I’m not working my day job) filming and editing these tutorials in order to upload them to YouTube. Here are some stats for this video: Total amount of footage filmed – 12 hours 20 minutes and 14 seconds Total file size of filmed footage – 104 gig Total time spent building the diorama – Over 40 hours Number of photos taken during final photo shoot – 94 (A lot less than usual because it started to rain) Time spent editing – 22 hours Approximate cost of diorama - $105.00 (The vehicle was the most expensive at $50 because I had to order it from Europe and pay a large postage fee) If you’d like to support this channel to help keep the videos coming feel free to check out my Patreon Page where I have a few different perks and rewards for those that support me: https://www.patreon.com/luketowan

I'm reaching out now In the only way I know how Stranded in this Butterfly Effect A block of ice falls off a glacier And tears a passing tanker's hull The oil spills out into the ocean An entire ecosystem nulled A seagull takes flight by the water Flapping it's wings, against the air Air pressure drops off in the distance Setting loose hurricanes elsewhere

Glacial Lake Missoula Ripples at Camas Prairie, Montana in 4K
The giant ripples across Camas Prairie are unique parallel ridges that have an average height of 13-30 feet. The Camas Prairie ripple marks were formed as the deep and swiftly flowing water from Glacial Lake Missoula raced through the failed ice dam at speeds up to 50 miles per hour. The entire volume of Glacial Lake Missoula flooded out across the Columbia Basin many, many times during its Ice Age existence. The flood following the current course of the Clark Fork River and Columbia River. Imagine the level of catastrophe?

Volcanoes Around the World
Volcanoes around the world (Kilauea, Rainier, Mazama, Yellowstone, Long Valley) erupt magmas with differing silica contents - and therefore have constrasting eruptive styles. Eruptive styles range from effusive and quiet...to explosive and deadly. And there is a global pattern for the location for these volcanoes. Magma chemistry (silica content) is an important factor in determining the location and eruptive danger for volcanoes in the Cascades, the Andes, and other locations. Sheild volcanoes (45% silica), Stratovolcanoes (60% silica), and Supervolcanoes (75% silica) demonstrate contrasting volcanic shapes, locations, and eruptive styles. Tom Foster (http://HUGEfloods.com) and Nick Zentner (Central Washington University) have been hiking together in eastern Washington for years. ‘Volcanoes Around the World’ is part of a “2 Minute Geology” video series.

"Ice Dam Problems: Poking Holes in a Leaky Ice Age Floods Theory" w/ Dynamite Randall Carlson (2008)
[lecture only -- no support graphics] THIS EXCERPT NOW INCLUDED WITH COSMOGRAPHY101-15.1 CLASS VIDEO, ENHANCED WITH GRAPHICS HERE: https://youtu.be/6sAMOcNg3SY The proposed ‘ice dam’ in western Montana’s Clark Fork River Valley, an extension of the Purcell Trench Lobe of the Cordilleran Ice Sheet, that has been accepted for decades to have repeatedly impounded a 550 cubic mile pro-glacial Lake Missoula, just doesn’t hold water. Read a description of C. Warren Hunt’s perspective in “Magician of the Gods” by Graham Hancock. Randall introduced him to the work of the Canadian geologist, who was a consultant to engineered dam projects, and published an article about its impossibility in an obscure journal in 1977. (Journal of Canadian Petroleum Geology) During the lecture, Randall: - questions the anthropogenic influence on climate compared to other natural factors - points out that scaling-up modern ice-dammed lakes by three orders of magnitude is necessary to allow for Lake Missoula -asks how, without an ice dam burst, does one explain one billion cubic-feet-per-second flood-flows -points out that modern Icelandic lakes can drain thru 30 miles of glacier in 30 days -explains that modern concrete reinforced dams are diminutive in comparison to the proposed ice dam -notes that everywhere else the glaciers are melting/retreating, but in this valley the ice keeps expanding and sealing against the growing lake -compares the complexity of the current flood model to the ousted Ptolemaic Model of the solar system -explains how the great floods were finally accepted because the ice dam allowed a ‘Uniformitarian’ explanation -proposes to demolish the impossible theory Lead-in music by David Walen Jr: http://www.soundcloud.com/davi-w-jr

Tahoe Valley Campground Review - So Lake Tahoe
We spent a week in So Lake Tahoe at Tahoe Valley Campground. The campground boast approximately 450 site in four major loops. This is a very family oriented campground, with a pool, playground, tennis and basketball courts. It's very close to all major bike trails and shopping. I thought the bathrooms were tired and not up to par for the price of sites.
