Thanks for this video. Since it was done, Amazon has changed the user interface (UI) and now requires a UPC to be entered up front. Is there an updated version of this video?

Adel Wafa (1 year ago)
Hey, What about Amazon's tool called Add variation through variation wizard, can this method be instead of yours ?
Tony Jules (1 year ago)
The video is great; that's exactly what I was looking for, except that I am dealing with shirts. I got those shirts from Walmart, and they have a tag with Walmart logo, barcode and price. I want to send them to Amazon for FBA. What is the best way to do that? Do I ask Amazon to send me new barcode labels, remove the ones from Walmart, and place the Amazon ones on those shirts before I send them to Amazon? How do I request that? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you

what if you want to further modify an existing product? not simply a different color? like, add components onto an existing product?

Hi, does this still work in 2017?
nousphere (1 year ago)
As far as I know it still does work. Amazon has also introduced an add a variation wizard which outputs a spreadsheet you can then upload. This may work for you as well in some situations.
John Yaacoub (1 year ago)
is this only for FBA or can be done for dropshipping?
nousphere (1 year ago)
Should work for either.

What if you have a UPC to 4-black pen, but you want to list them as 8-black pens? There is no such thing as 8-black pens, you just have two 4-packs and want to sell it as 8.
nousphere (1 year ago)
I think in this case you would have to buy a UPC code, and create a new product. This is called a bundle.

Hi. What if the Variation that I need to create on an existing listing has already been shipped to amazon, and I didn't know that I should have done the Add Variation Listing 1st. Can I still add a variation listing after my product has been sent to amazon fba? And can I use the same upc code as the current listing for my different color variations, cause I don't have upc codes for my variation colors?
nousphere (1 year ago)
You can call Amazon and ask them to combine the two listings. The original, plus the new one you put the variation on.
Augustinas Teresius (1 year ago)
Does it work only for products that already have some variations? Because I am stuck in a bit different situation. I have my own private label product and it was created without any variations, but I now I see a demand for color variations. Can I use the same method to add variations to product that doesn't have any variations right now? If no, could you tell the best method to do that? Thank you in advance! :)
Mike C (1 year ago)
Does this still work? I tried following step by step and there was never anywhere to enter the UPC code.
nousphere (1 year ago)
Yes, it should still work.
Maggie Rife (1 year ago)
worked perfectly! thank you:)
Daily FBA Finds (1 year ago)
You are very welcome!
Conrad Alberto (1 year ago)
I did try this and I think it worked however I do not have any of the variations including the original sku in stock. The parent SKU does not show the variations live on the page. Would this be because I have not sent the inventory into FBA? If they receive my inventory, will it automatically show the variations live on the site?
Daily FBA Finds (1 year ago)
Yes, so if you've added the variations to the listing already, then you're good there. Then you have to send the inventory into Amazon and it should appear on the listing at that point.

Hi Chris, thanks for sharing. May i know how to add a size chart beside your product? I mean usually there is a underline '"size chart'" wording beside the size drop down list (you can select what size you want to purchase), when you click the "size chart" wording and your size chart table will popup.....

i have a question. im starting with no money how would i ship the item, if i cant afford it myself, and amazon transfer of money takes longer.
Daily FBA Finds (1 year ago)
If you are starting with nothing then we recommend a loan and then you bootstrap your business. I may need to do a video on this because you are not the only one. We've seen people take $200 and in a few months be grossing thousands, so it's possible to bootstrap. If you have nothing at all you might try a loan from https://www.kabbage.com/

hello, can you help me listing a new product and adding variations of size and color. I'm stuck. please help. i have 16 different product that need variations.
Daily FBA Finds (1 year ago)
You can add a new listing through seller central as you normally would using the items UPC code. Then you could go back and use the technique in this video to add additional variations to the listing.
Anthony Eneje (2 years ago)
Hi I have been watching your YouTube tutorials for a while now; I’ve brought a number of products from a wholesaler. The products don’t exist on amazon and also they have different variation’s just wondering if it’s possible for you to create a tutorial explaining how someone can create a new product with 2 – 5 variation of there own original product. Kind regards AE
HI Anthony, have you managed to create a variations together with a new Listing? I am in the same process at the moment, trying to figure out the best way
Daily FBA Finds (1 year ago)
You've got a good idea there. I appreciate the request and will look into creating such a video. Also, to assist you can add a new listing through seller central as you normally would using the items UPC code. Then you could go back and use the technique in this video to add additional variations to the listing.

dear Amazon why only your listing is so complicated than others like Flipkart , shopclues, is there any seller support helpline no. ? i trying to upload the list but not successfull even with single one product.
Daily FBA Finds (1 year ago)
We've been scratching our heads trying to figure this out too. There are some pretty crazy complications with Amazon's listings. Luckily the issues I address in the video tend to be the most common issue and the others we don't come up against often at all.
Hi. thanks for the video. I also want to sell some shoes, my Private Label, so there are a lot of colors and sizes, so its a bit complicated. Should i bye upc codes or a can do a brand registry and Amazon will give me GCID code and i can use my own notifications? Thanks
Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
I know you can use UPCs codes, but frankly I have no experience with the GCID approach. My suggestion would be to call Amazon support and immediately ask for the "listing specialist team" to chat with the right person about the pros and cons of these approaches. My understanding is that all items must have a UPC, but there may be other cases.
Jay Singh (2 years ago)
Great video mate! 1 question: I currently have a product with 4 individual listings (variations). These listings are ranked well. I am thinking of combining these 4 listings into 1. Is this possible? Are there any dangers of F'ing this up? Would appreciate the feedback
Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
Yes, it's possible to combine listings but ONLY Amazon can do this. You may or may not lose the reviews on the listings you are moving to the main listing. Only Amazon will be able to tell you because there are some different scenarios involved. My suggestion would be to call Amazon support and immediately ask for the "listing specialist team" to chat with the right person.
thetntmastermind (2 years ago)
Would you suggest making a sku for the child you are not really selling that is connecting the variations, for example? "Reebok_pump_child"? I want a system that helps me remember which is the child I used to connect when I am checking multiple variations and deleting old inventory (I don't want to accidentally delete the child that connected me to the listing. Thank you!
idoallthethings (2 years ago)
what if all variations have the same manufacturer UPC?
Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
That should be impossible, but if you're seeing it then my suggestion would be to call Amazon support and immediately ask for the "listing specialist team" to chat with the right person. Only Amazon will be able to sort out that issue. If you can provide them with the correct UPCs that will help, but otherwise it could take them a long time in my experience to fix an issue like this.
Stephanie Rispoli (2 years ago)
Is there a way to add items to a variation if you had already created the listings for it?
Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
Yes, just follow the process in the video.
Michael Galvin (2 years ago)
Thank you so much. The idea of using that big ugly flat file was really unappealing. My new colour variation is now live on Amazon. I thought it hadn't worked because a new ASIN was created, but when i visited the product page it was showing the original ASIN, so the new ASIN is just the parent ASIN. I converted the new SKU to FBM and added a few units to check it worked and voila, two colours now appear on the listing. I really appreciate you creating and posting this video. Thank you!!
Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
Great, glad it worked for you!
Kenneth Jones (2 years ago)
Doesn't work. I have a completely different screen that comes up when creating my product.
Anthony Mulvihill (2 years ago)
I have the same issue, its a different layout. When I enter the exisiting UPC a notifcation saying This product will be matched to: (Product listed here) pops up.
Janis Cook (2 years ago)
Hi Kenneth, are you sure you are starting by creating a new product listing as opposed to listing a new product? If you located the button to create a product listing you should be able to follow the tutorial and create your variations. Also, you may check what kind of seller account you have individual or professional. The material in this tutorial works if you have a professional selling plan. Regards, Janis
Kenneth Jones (2 years ago)
I talked to them they said I wasn't allowed to create variations on the product. So I have a different screen.
Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
So, it's possible that you the variation you are trying to add to the listing already exists inside another product listing. In that case Amazon MAY be able to break that product off the other listing and add it to the listing you are targeting. To do this you'll need to call them and ask for their "inventory management specialists team" to get the proper help.
gfpete01 (2 years ago)
Followed your video to a T and it didn't work. I got to very last part where it should have asked me to combine the listings but instead when I clicked "Save and Finish" it took me to the FBA inbound Workflow screen as though it wanted me to send in product to Amazon. I clicked "Create Shipment" and then I was told that the "Parent ASIN cannot be fulfilled by Amazon, You can send this product by creating a listing against the child ASIN." -- Apparently this "trick" to add variations no longer works correctly? Can you please help?

Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
Hi there airman4023, the technique still works because we use it still, but I will admit that there are scenarios where it may not work. If that's the case with you it's best to call Amazon support. To do this you'll need to call them and ask for their "inventory management specialists team" to get the proper help. They should be able to walk you through the process of doing this without a spreadsheet, or they will be able to tell you why it isn't working and help you get a work around happening.
Great video, thanks. Question: if it works the same way if I just created a new listing myself and product not on the sale now yet, but I want to add couple new variations to my listing and send all products together to amazon?
Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
So if you want to setup your own product listing you can. Then you could come back afterwards and add variations using the technique outlined in this video. That would be the easiest approach and would avoid the use of spreadsheets.
Nifty Nifty (2 years ago)
Hi, What if there is only ONE color listed. Green and mine is Pink. How do I do that variation?
Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
The correct domain name is http://asinspector.com/
Jolene Cazzola (2 years ago)
ASINinspector.com doesn't seem to exist. I'm getting an inquire about this domain notice.
Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
The same way as in the video. You'll need the UPC code for the green item though. So you can ask Amazon for that, or use a tool like ASINspector.com to look up the UPC code.
Roscoe Foster (2 years ago)
Great video, if a product variation on size has a different price for each size do I just add the different price into the variation size boxes? Regards
Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
Yes, that's correct.

Luna el familia (2 years ago)
need some help for photos..I add 4 colors for variations but cannot see the pictures for every color only is appearing in all colors
Robert Weisberg (2 years ago)
Very well done. Using a spreadsheet for this sort of thing is usually no faster, however there are more things that can go wrong with some minor issue or error. The Amazon control panel has many weaknesses including things like this. They do make it much harder than it should be. The new catalog improvements are merely the look of the interface,.
Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
Yes, I agree, and sorry for the late reply. I didn't know that my comment notifications weren't getting to me, and this video was more popular than I expected! One of the issues you will run into is if the variation you are trying to add to the listing already exists inside another product listing. In that case Amazon *MAY* be able to break that product off the other listing and add it to the listing you are targeting. To do this you'll need to call them and ask for their "inventory management specialists team" to get the proper help. Best of luck!
Tom Fennelly (2 years ago)
Is the only way to get the UPC code of the existing product by contacting Amazon directly? Or is there another way?
Daily FBA Finds (2 years ago)
The ASINspector.com tool can also look up UPC codes for you.
Latief Syed (2 years ago)
amazon listing is really difficult specially when one wants todo some variations. Ebay is far better in that case
