Love the videos but the bad acting has to go LMAO ... made me laugh though.
This!!! I had one client that I had to drop a client after they finally paid five days later. With new clients, I’m having them sign written agreements on how I need to be paid and time restrictions! Plus a blurb about how paying on time helps me keep my business running and is appreciated! I also send invoices and text them the invoices as well! I work too hard and take pride in my work and time to not be paid! 2019 I’ll be requesting clients to be paying weekly services upfront!

Huge fan! Thanks you for all the great info on 1member llc's. I have a question and cant really find any transparency on the topic. Can I have a member of the llc with 0% ownership or are all members required to have ownership? Starting a YouTube and looking to monetize through sponsorship from local businesses. My buddy is going to be co host of the show so I want to pay him but didn't want the trouble of going through the employee route. Hopefully this makes sense

I seriously thought I wasn't going to like these videos.... you proved me completely wrong. You are very good at explaining complicated things in very simple terms, which is the sign of high intellect. You got my respect and my subscription to your channel. You are also a big help. Thank you!

Question: About pizaying a client. If I were to write a check would I be able to sign with the DBA fictitious business name I'm using under my LLC, or would I need to sign as the LLC name which is different than the DBA name?

One thing to note as well, is that your client may not always be the one responsible for issuing the check. I've had more than one client absolutely mortified when they found out we hadn't been payed. And that's when they jumped on accounts receivable. Long story short: it might not be their fault. Maybe you assumed that in your video but not all people do. Regardless, great info. Outside of all the advice you gave, I'll say if a client is bad about paying or always late, find a new client.

I normally just invite them onto my boat for a fishing trip once i feel they tryna skip out on payment. If I can't get them, i normally figure out a way to get a close friend/family member onto my boat. Surprisingly enough, if the own pets, pets work well too. Most pay up once they see the cement blocks and chain. Easy peasy

I always say I never want to get married. Then I see a woman who has her $#!t together and I realize, I've been dating the wrong type all this time. Fml. Subscribed.
Hans-Denis Bamal,Jr. (2 months ago)
twes619 she might be dope as a lawyer, but you can't know what to expect from her as a wife... beware (watch her micro expressions)
Can you include language in your invoice or estimate that unpaid invoices are charged interest. This way if a high enough interest is charged you can charge off the debt as a 1099 and hopefully by that point the final amount charged off saves you an amout equal to the original bill on your taxes.

+180 Law Co. LLC True but you can always take them to small claims court and lien his property

That's a great idea too, but charging all the late fees in the world doesn't so much good if the person doesn't pay the late fees.

Gotcha. That said, a huge problem arises when you have a client that is NOT located in the same state as you are as is the case many times when freelancing or providing an on-line service. In such a case it is impossible to drag the business or individual into small claims court. So may I ask what is the best remedy in such a case ?

Question: Where should I look for an accountant or cpa, for my small business? Thank you in advance!
Marcie Moon (2 months ago)
Look for an Enrolled Agent in your area. They are typically more reasonable than CPA’s, federally licensed, and specialize in taxes.

To avoid getting burned buy a client do a contract 50% up front and 50% when completed.
That’s what I’m writing into my contracts with new clients!

I collect upfront before I start any work because clients will try you.
Welcome to the Now (2 months ago)
suthbiker 55 Thank you and yes times have changed especially with technology. With my field of work and services it makes sense to collect upfront. I had an experience with a client that did a chargeback on almost $2,000 worth of product. I won the case, but it was horrible going through it. It was fraud, but thankfully I kept everything in writing, photographs, and signatures. Throughout that process it showed me just how shady people can be and how you must always be protected. That situation has changed me forever and gave me the worst anxiety, but I made it through. Lots of prayer and paper trail.

180 Law Co. LLC Good to know im not the only one! Thank you for always sharing business tips. They have helped me ALOT!
suthbiker 55 (2 months ago)
Agreed, I will however reconsider that policy IF the client has established a very good payment history. Even then I may required 50% of the cost up front. Sad, but the times have and continue to change.

Same! They WILL try you.
