I love your beer, but you really need to put a compressor on your voiceover track, it's clipping a lot.

ricoranger2 (1 year ago)
I'm drinking some Bergamot Sour while watching this. 😀 Really forward thinking Brewery. Keep it up guys. Only downside is that their beers are gone before a lot of people get to taste them.
+ricoranger2 haha I know right!? They expanding quite a lot this year - about 12000hl should be released so much more for everyone. Still so tiny though. I think it will always be a struggle but will get easier.

Did James work for Marble in the past?
Verdant is now a brewery in Cornwall, so I was very confused by the comment for a few seconds.

The Craft Beer Channel That Explains why he looked familiar then. He delivered to me many times when I worked at the Knott Bar long ago. Nice to see he went to such verdant pastures.
LordBillington42 he did indeed!

The Craft Beer Channel is it in america?
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
it sure is! From the bitters right up to the Imperial stouts.
Wert (2 years ago)
got to say I was disappointed with v3
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+Ncltaxidriver we absolutely loved it but think v1 is still the best so far. Shouldn't be overpriced though! Where did you buy it? It's £3.80 a bottle from our partner Beer Merchants
Wert (2 years ago)
+The Craft Beer Channel it was over priced and over hyped but a good beer
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+Ncltaxidriver damn! what was wrong? And keg or bottle?
Ole P. (2 years ago)
Man I hope this somehow makes it to CPH or Malmö. Some degree of chance I guess if we can even get Hill Farmstead tap takeovers once a year. If you put this in the realm of Heady and Pliny I need to try it.
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+Ole P. definitely. Wish we'd known about it when we did the Heady/Pliny comparison. Looking back it makes a lot of sense.
Ole P. (2 years ago)
A mate and me just brewed with that yeast as well. Seems to be a big chunk of the Heady flavor.
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+Ole P. this batch basically uses heady yeast so should be in that vein - and I have all faith that it's gonna be as good! They said they were exporting some so keep your eyes/ears open!
3nr1BAE (2 years ago)
So I won't be able to find this in California? :(
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+enriqueDFTL afraid not, they have just started exporting but not to that part of the world yet! You have plenty for world class IPAs though!
Gavin McGuinness (2 years ago)
Always nice to hear about breweries that are not yet on my radar. Now to try and find a bottle of the stuff here in Ireland. Happy hunting!
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+Gavin McGuinness it will be available on beer merchants who ship there...
invinciblejets (2 years ago)
Never heard of it.
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+invinciblejets haha, well now you have!
Francesco Bandini (2 years ago)
Why using hop extract when you can use real hops?
gutorage (2 years ago)
+Francesco Bandini maybe hop extract is more concentrated, duh?
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+Francesco Bandini a few reasons, but Cloudwater would know more than me. This was the bittering addition so not expecting any flavour. But what it does produce (some say) is a more even, smooth bitterness. It also reduces the trub so you lose less beer.

How is it possible for anyone to give this video a "thumbs down"? They must be drunk and hit the wrong button.
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
Haha. We hope so! Either that or it's a jealous brewing rival...
Andrew Whitelegg (2 years ago)
Being a Manchester lad I love this brewery along with marble and Buxton, there DIPA and cira IPA is outstanding
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
You are very lucky to live in that area! Some world class breweries on your doorstep!
Sam Hefford (2 years ago)
Cloudwater are great! I'm round the corner from these guys and i still need to bob in for a tour yet. Really looking forward to v3.
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
it's well worth a trip!
T T (2 years ago)
What's the difference between their double ipa and V2?
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+ArielHelwany probably the first, but then I haven't tried the third one yet and I think it has the potential to blow the others away!
T T (2 years ago)
+The Craft Beer Channel What's your favorite version?
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+ArielHelwany DIPA v1 had lots and lots of different hops, while v2 was a single hop citra. V3 is single hop citra (to best of my knowledge) but with the vermont yeast we talk about in the video!

Really cool to get an insight into Cloudwater, I'm hoping they find a few beers they can consistently produce, but their business model has been wonderfully successful and is getting people excited about classic beers like lagers and bitters, which is good. It's a real big jolt to the craft beer scene in the UK and you can visibly see the effects they're having on other breweries - showing that you don't have to experiment insanely with adjuncts and that just making really great beer. Honestly, and excuse the hyperbole, we might be looking at the arrival of Cloudwater (alongside Chorlton and Vocation) as the start of a new phase of craft beer in the UK. The big thing to see will be how they do at creating really "high-end" beers beyond the DIPA. Some barrel aged beers are coming soon and to see them get into sours in a big way doesn't seem that unlikely in the next few years.
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+flicky yeah they are definitely a brewery that knows how to take things forward and the brewing quality is second to none. I think they are planning to be a bit more consistent in the styles they offer but will make seasonal brewing their focus still. Vocation are another great brewery to look out for - having such a stunning core range will put them in good stead!
Happy Beer Time (2 years ago)
Definitely at the same level than Pliny!
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+BurningBeard714 depends on what you mean by behind - if you mean the style is slightly outdated sure. But the beer has stood the test of time better than most. It's still a brilliantly aromatic, remarkably easy drinking IPA.
BurningBeard (2 years ago)
Pliny is now miles behind other american beers...keep trying tho
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+Happy Beer Time we agree! Certainly v1
Jan Kenk (2 years ago)
Damn this looks like fun :D
The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+Jan Kenk it damned sure was!
Stan Woffles (2 years ago)

The Craft Beer Channel (2 years ago)
+Stile Magehile love a good D. Go big or go home we say. Or go big and then be carried home...
