Pole Shed - Installing raditant floor heat PEX tubing loops

21 ratings | 6675 views
The family and I tackled 9 loops of radiant floor tubing. The kids enjoyed running the stapler as I lined the tubing up following the diagram that was provided to me from a plumber who had access to run a program for the most efficient use of the space that we had. We also used Owens Corning® Foamular® Extruded Polystyrene Insulation 2" x 4' x 8' R-10. Here is a link to the product: https://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/insulation/insulation-panels/owens-corning-reg-foamular-reg-extruded-polystyrene-insulation-2-x-4-x-8-r-10/p-1444450502427-c-5779.htm?tid=4558127238762286522&ipos=4

How thick of insulation are you using?
Thanks for watching +B Cooper!  We ending up using Owens Corning® Foamular® Extruded Polystyrene Insulation 2" x 4' x 8' R-10.  Here is a link: https://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/insulation/insulation-panels/owens-corning-reg-foamular-reg-extruded-polystyrene-insulation-2-x-4-x-8-r-10/p-1444450502427-c-5779.htm?tid=4558127238762286522&ipos=4

How did you decide how much hose to run and what to space it at? What are you using to heat the water?
Thanks for asking MattN03! Fortunately, I had a plumber that spoke with his tubing representative who had acces to the software program that diagramed it all out for us. I could not find anything online that was simple or inexpensive to help us plan the loops. As for heating the water we hope to have a closed system heated by a natural gas boiler type system.
